Why we put the logic on the screen

Kingsley & Ashford was founded on a single conviction: traders make better decisions when they can see every assumption their automation is making.

Who we are and what we build

Kingsley & Ashford is a software company based in Velenje, Slovenia, building algorithmic trading tools for independent retail traders and small systematic funds operating in EU markets. Founded in 2021 by a team of four with backgrounds in quantitative finance, software engineering, and FX desk operations, we have grown to a team of eleven people working from Velenje with a distributed engineering presence in Ljubljana and Maribor. To date, we have onboarded more than 340 active strategy users across 14 EU countries. The platform currently supports FX majors, DAX and EUROSTOXX 50 index CFDs, and a selection of commodity CFDs, with fixed income instruments in active development. We built the product because we were frustrated by tools that gave you a net P&L and no explanation — so we designed ours around the audit trail first and the dashboard second.

How we work — and what we do not promise

Our development process is organised around two-week cycles. Every feature ships with internal documentation that explains the design decision, the assumption being made, and the known limitation. This is not just an engineering habit — it is the same transparency standard we apply to the product itself. When we update the slippage model or change a default parameter in the risk-controls layer, we publish a changelog entry that tells you exactly what shifted and why. We also document what the platform is not. It is not a signal service: we provide the automation infrastructure, and you provide the strategy. It does not predict market direction, does not self-adjust based on recent losses, and does not guarantee any outcome. EU markets are subject to regulatory changes, liquidity shifts, and macro events that no automation layer can fully anticipate. Traders who succeed with systematic tools are the ones who understand the rules their bot is following — and review those rules regularly. We make that review process as fast and legible as we can.

Three things that define how we operate

Open logic, always

Every algorithmic decision the platform makes on behalf of a user is logged, timestamped, and tied to a versioned rule set. We do not run proprietary overlays on top of user strategies — what you configure is exactly what executes.

EU-based infrastructure

All user data, strategy configurations, and execution logs are stored on servers located within the EU. We comply with GDPR requirements and do not transfer personal or trading data outside EU jurisdiction.

Direct, honest support

Support at Kingsley & Ashford is handled by engineers who work on the platform — not a separate tier of generalist agents. If a bug affects your backtest results, the person who replies knows the codebase.
